Decided to make the trip to Leipzig as Maya Mare in Halle is currently closed for renovations. The Sachsen Therme has a lot to offer (several different saunas at different temperatures, a bar/restaurant area, a large steam room, foot baths, relaxation area, three jacuzzis, cold plunge pool etc). The decor, however, is somewhat outdated and could do with a revamp, and it was extremely busy to the point that it was difficult to really relax in the sauna area as the acoustics are quite poor making it very loud. It wasn't not a bad experience overall but I have also been to better thermal baths in Germany.

The diving boards did not open even once while we were there even though it was stated when we entered that it would be open every half an hour or every hour. The lifeguard blamed it on that he was alone watching all the pools. That is worrying. Only one guard for all these pools... Also very disappointing that we could not jump even once.

This place is very nice. I like this place. Water temperature is not cold. You can sit any sunbed free of charge. You should go there early.

Nice variety of sauna’s and pools, quite and respectful people, generally looks clean but don’t look in all the nooks and cranny’s..

Staff is small minded and rude. They made me pay full price and even though I’m a student, simply because my student pass isn’t German and they “don’t know this school”, which is insane to me.
