Fitness First Leipzig - Thomaskirche

If you are looking for a commercial gym in Leipzig which is similar to a gym in the US or UK, this is it. There are actually proper platforms, barbells, bouncer plates, and even specialty bars (trap bar, safety bar, etc.). This is hard to come by in Germany. I’m originally from the US, and was a powerlifter for many years, and I’ve been happily training here for almost 6 years. While there are specialty powerlifting/bodybuilding gyms in Leipzig, I’ve still remained at this location due to location and price. Also the staff are awesome and genuinely make an effort to make the gym a nice place to be. :)

I visited Fitness First Leipzig today around 8:20 pm 16 December and had a concerning experience regarding locker safety.

I had a grocery bag with me, which I placed next to a locker in the changing room because many lockers were not working properly. The lockers were not broken, but they could not be used/locked, and several of them were out of order.

When I informed a gym employee about this, they said they were not aware of the issue. I asked if the security cameras could be checked, as the situation had occurred about 30 minutes earlier, but I was told that this was not possible.

There are no cameras in the changing room, and with many lockers not functioning, this creates a security risk. If someone’s valuable belongings get stolen, it is unclear how the gym would handle such a situation.

⚠️ Please be careful: I have heard that people’s belongings have been stolen here before, so I would advise members not to leave valuable items unattended.

I hope the management takes this issue seriously and improves the locker situation and overall security.

I highly recommend Fit One Leipzig! The staff is incredibly friendly, sweet, and helpful. I especially love the ladies-only training room—it's perfect for days when I want more privacy. This is definitely the best gym!

one of the best, if not the best gyms in leipzig. very huge they have a wife variety of machines, and most importantly the staff is very nice and helpful. Elias was the one who really stood out to me from the staff he’s always there to help. 100% recommend this gym.

I really liked the gym, it's quite large and has various options for each person. The best thing is the exclusive area for women, but the VIP area doesn't have as many machines as I expected.

Excellent place. Ideal for people who take training serious. The air quality is great, people sweat and can be uncomfortable smelling others but here is not the case.

The location is also ideal.

Update: After one year enrolled in this studio, I can tell a few things: - The facilities are huge and the equipment is good, the problem is that when the equipment is damaged, it takes a few days or even weeks to get repaired A few months ago, the turnout was acceptable, but nowadays, it is almost always overcrowded, not just at peak hours - In summer, the air conditioning got damaged and it took sooo long to get repaired, they tried to solve the problem using fans but it was not enough (At the end, instead of accepting the problem and working on it, they tried to gaslight me 🙄) - The cleaning in the dressing rooms could be improved - They usually ran out of hand soap and disposable handtowels

Please turn on the air conditioning. The whole gym feels like the sauna, even the ceiling is sweating

Lot of equipment, perfect condition, very nice people. Online thing to improve, water dispenser. The water tastes like strawberry

It is a very big studio, with a very young clientele, I really liked the Lady Fit and the VIP areas, everything was clean and the people who work there are friendly and helpfulf!

Nice - clean and fully equipped

Gym is quite nice, but owner enjoys keeping a tropical temperature inside which makes you sweat in technical wear (shorts and t-shirt of tech material) just by standing seated. Working out in here remembers me of the Bahamas.

The stuff is nice and they all speak English!!

1- the place is not hygienic at all, I complain everyday people use machines without towel and has to be more effective the control bc the smell is very bad I got sick 🤢 twice.

2- way to crowded! Sometimes it’s imposible to workout without stopping bc all machines are being used and with people waiting to use it…

insanely large training area, very clean locker rooms and 4 saunas. I was satisfied so much.

Since today all „Wellpass“ members must buy an entrance card for 25 euro. I go to 10 different gyms with my Wellpass. Should I buy from all of them? If one chooses your gym occasionally make them choose it for constant and do not make it worse.

I became a member with fit one last month. Their gym is good. However, the employees in the reception really need to be respectful and have the patience to help their customer. When I registered with them one of the female employees was speaking english and helped us with everything. Later I wanted to pause my membership for two months and went to the gym to help me with it. In the reception one of the guys was not speaking english and told me to wait for his colleague. I waited for 10 to 15 minutes while they were busy in attending other people. But I came there before them. Later, when the other employee came, he just told me to pause it with the app. After coming back I tried to do it with app but somehow was not able to do it. Then again called them to pause it and i now found out my contract has been cancelled for April.It was a chaos just to speak with them because of the language issue. I hope from next time they will be more attentive while attending their customer. fully disappointed with the service.

I would give no star but one star for the first month when most of VIP service had been working;) I've been a member for half a year and I'm so glad that I took only a 6 month package. After a month I registered, STEAM SAUNA DEFEKT I could use only once. MASSALIUM DEFEKT the proper one I could use only 2 or 3 times they have 2 rooms but one is closed for forever and one they put massage chair instead of water massage bed. SUNLIUM DEFEKT in the beginning it was dirty, but 2 rooms working and I liked to use that sometimes BUT since 2 months ago both of the rooms are closed 😅

STUDIO absolutely out of control, it was ok for me because I was always in VIP room avoiding rush hour, actually chill:) but if you are contracting normal or silver, it's overcrowded and some people are not even cleaning up the weight after training, just leaving and there's no control no one notice them. Most of the stuff is just staying at the counter I've seen only once when one worker was cleaning up. Once there were no soaps in the women's toilet for a month. I just changed to another fitness club, and I'm surprised how clean and people are more appropriate to using a studio and the price, almost half of it😂 And here's another one star, the location is perfect right next to the S-Bahn station so I'm kind of sad there's no improvement.

Pretty good gym. Have everything, except the good press benches (just Hammer strength here, no professional). Crowded. Many people don't disassemble the gear, so it's a bit messy, but not gyms fault. For 20/mo - it's imo best for the price (but I didn't check Crunch - their trial training is paid). All the others have lower tier equipment for 20/mo. There are professional gyms in town, but for higher price tag (50+) and not in the city center, this location is just perfect. Staying here for 4y, and probably will continue.

Don't go there if you want lose all your money because who works here and you wanna only 1 moth contract so they give you one moth contract and say "yeah you will pay here just for one month and if you will wanna continue we can give you another contract and you can continue and the one month end in the end of the next month' ok... So I sign everything is ok and I declined my account to make sure that it will end because I must move out into another city so fine... After few weeks they sand facture like for another 2 month so I started saying it's mistake because it was only for one month and they tell me they don't make mistakes and it's my mistake... Like bruh... Anyway fit is nice and cool atmosphere but they just wanna pay for something you don't even use anymore and they want more and they can't say hey, I will check maybe it's mistake in our way, no they just tell me no, it's your mistake because we don't make mistakes and pay.... So I don't know what I must to do because I don't wanna pay like 60e for their mistakes because they give me wrong information and I read the contract and they say I don't.... And workers here is so rude after that... I just wanna know finally something

Avoid the yearly contract at all cost with this company. The rules are written on purpose in a way that it is almost impossible for you to just deregister yourself, for example if you wish to not go there anymore and you are in the first month of the second year, you simply cannot do it because you have to wait for the second year to be over, in other words you have to keep paying for the rest of 11 months regardless of your wish. They say that the contract is renewed automatically and is within your duty to contact them 3 months in advance and let them know that you do not want to continue, put more simply a miserable way to earn a living from the owners of the company. Avoid this crooked staff!

One of the best gyms I have ever been. Super friendly and welcoming staff, well equipped. Wellness area is also really pleasant.
